HFN, Inc. (Housing For Nevada) was incorporated in 2002 as a 501(c)3 Nonprofit Affordable Housing Developer and HUD Certified Housing Counseling Agency. HFN developed and implemented an Acquisition Rehab and Resale (ARR) program. Through this work, HFN has built strong relationships in the Las Vegas valley (Clark County) with contractors, local government(s) and various lending institutions.

Through its affiliate relationship with National Council of La Raza (NCLR) HFN has always maintained their HUD-Certified designation. To enhance that designation, in January 2011 HFN obtained local HUD approval as a Certified Housing Counseling Agency. Recently, HFN joined a consortium of HUD-Certified counseling agencies participating in the Nevada State Attorney General's Home Again Program, which assists distressed homeowners with foreclosure prevention counseling and provides housing opportunities for homebuyers.

HFN continues to meet new challenges and strives to be the standard by which other agencies follow; all while keeping our clients, and the community we serve, as our top priority.

Since inception, HFN has provided bilingual education and counseling services and referrals for over 8,500 low-to-moderate income individuals. Our homebuyer education workshops teach money management skills and this learning is complemented by the assistance of a housing counselor that helps families set clear and defined goals. Many of our families go on to purchase their own home and also participate in our down-payment assistance programs. For the year 2013, HFN educated and counseled over 758 families, with over 60% of participants from Latino and/or African American decent.

We have grown expeditiously over the past two years, resulting in a doubling of highly skilled and qualified staff. HFN has also acquired additional office space and increased the classroom size to comfortably accommodate 100 people.
